Leaders Eat Last By Simon Sinek

This week I read ‘Leaders Eat Last’ by Simon Sinek. A book that reflects on Leadership and what it takes to become an extraordinary leader.

See, Simon Sinek dreams of a world where people wake up inspired to go to work, feel trusted and valued during the day, and return home feeling fulfilled. A world where people collaborate to create remarkable results and where organizations worldwide place trust and cooperation over cynicism, paranoia, and self-interest.

According to Sinek, the number one determining factor for making this vision a reality is great leadership! In ‘Leaders eat last’, he walks the reader through his empathy-based leadership model and lays out the path for turning his vision into reality.

The title, by the way, is derived from a practice in which Marine Corps Officers eat last during mealtimes. A symbolic act in the chow hall but deadly serious on the battlefield: Great leaders sacrifice their own comfort- and maybe even their survival – for the good of those in their care.

There are many, many great insights in the book! As always, I have made an animated summary of the most important ones. Hope you will enjoy it!
