Give and Take By Adam Grant

This week I read ‘Give and Take’ By Adam Grant. The book has the subtitle ‘Why Helping Others Drives Our Success’ and is, in its essence, a groundbreaking insight into the surprising forces determining if people rise to the top of the success ladder or sink to the bottom.

The basic premise of the book is that most people fit into one of three reciprocity styles:

  • Givers – who ‘give more than they get.’
  • Takers who ‘get more than they give.’
  • And Matchers who ‘balance give and take’ and are willing to exchange favors but careful not to be exploited.

Every time you interact with someone, your chosen style reveals itself. The decision is all yours, and what you choose can significantly impact your chances for success in Life, Business, and Love!

I like to think I am a giver – how about you??

We hope you will enjoy our animated summary of the book; you can watch it here:
