Made to Stick by Dan and Chip Heath

Today’s Big Idea comes from brothers Chip and Dan Heath and their book “Made to Stick”.

“Made to Stick” is a wonderful book and in its essence a guide on how to design your communication in a way that will make your ideas stick. The only problem was that I knew that I had read the book and enjoyed it very much, but I couldn’t remember what it was all about! A bit ironic since the very purpose of the book is to make your ideas stick!

I decided to not be too hard on authors Dan & Chip Heath since it would be too much to ask from my brain if I expected it to remember the details from the many books, I have read during my years as a leadership development specialist. Instead, I decided to make “Made to Stick” the next video for BigIdeasGrowingMinds!

The book has the subtitle “Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die” and in its essence, it is a guide on how to design your communication in a way that will make your ideas stick.

By “Stick” they mean that your ideas are understood, remembered and have a lasting impact. That your ideas are presented in a way so they will change your audience’s opinion or behaviour. Good ideas often have a hard time succeeding in the world, while urban legends and conspiracy theories keep circulating with no evidence to support them.

“Made to Stick” helps us design our communication so that our ideas can circulate as effectively as these fictitious stories.

I hope you will enjoy the video. That it will inspire you, help you Grow your Mind and Motivate You to be The Best You!
