The Speed Of Trust By Stephen Covey

This week I read the classic book by Stephen Covey ‘The Speed of Trust’. In the book we learn that Trust is: ‘The one thing that changes everything’.

See, people want to be trusted. They respond to trust. They thrive on trust. And according to Covey trust is not some soft, illusive quality you either have or don’t have! Rather, trust is a pragmatic, tangible, actionable asset that you can create – much faster than you think possible!

According to Covey, we build trust by seeing, speaking, and behaving in ways that established trust. And the key to doing this is to understand and navigate what he calls the five waves of trust.

Together these five waves of trust serve as a metaphor for how trust operates in our lives! It begins with each of us personally, continues into our relationships, expands into our organizations, extends into our marketplace relationships, and encompasses our global society at large.

If you are curios and want to learn more, I can only recommend reading the book! And should you find yourself too busy to read the whole book I can only encourage that you check out our animated summary on our YouTube Channel.
