When I first started BigIdeasGrowingMinds, one of my intentions was to convey complex ideas from nonfiction books to children. I have always thought it was a pity that kids do not learn about important topics like change management, communication, or the importance of having the right Mindset already in primary school. Therefore, I dreamed of creating materials that could teach these topics to kids – if nothing else as they were watching YouTube after school.
However, I quickly realized that I lacked the prerequisites to convey these important topics to children. Therefore, my YouTube channel ended up primarily aimed at adults! However, I still hope that someday, these topics will be as naturally conveyed to kids as they are to executives and world leaders.
This is why I was so excited when I recently came across a pretty amazing book from Matthew Syed called ‘You are awesome’. The book has the subtitle ‘Find your confidence and dare to be brilliant at (almost) anything’, and is, in its essence, a guide on how to build the right mindset and achieve your dreams. It’s a wonderful little book that appeals to both children and adults, and I can only recommend reading it.
