Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renée A. Mauborgne

I recently watched the TV show ‘Dragon’s den’ and noticed that many of the investors kept referring to an idea “being part of the ‘Red Ocean’”! They did this without further explanation – that is, until the TV show felt the need to put in a small ‘info-box’ explaining what it means. It reminded me of two things:

  1. One of My favorite expressions – ‘The Curse of Knowledge’ – Since Red Ocean is a presumptuous term to use without explaining it and,
  2. That I should really add ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’ to my production list – since this is where the term ‘Red Ocean’ comes from!

And so I did, which is why you can now watch an animated summary of ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’ on the YT channel!!.
