Leadership Development

The New One-Minute Manager By Spencer Johnson and Ken Blanchard

As a leadership development specialist, it almost goes without saying that I feel pretty strongly about Great leadership! I also have a fondness for a clear message and to-the-point techniques that you can quickly learn and apply.  I was, therefore, pleasantly surprised this week when reading ‘The New One-Minute Manager’ by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson. In its essence, the book is a guide for managers, teaching them how to obtain the best results through their employees.

The book offers a way for leaders to:

  • Succeed sooner with less stress,
  • Find meaning in their work
  • Lead through empowerment and motivation
  • and discover new ways for their organizations to adapt and prosper

Put in other words – it teaches them to become One-Minute managers.

In a nutshell, One-Minute managers get results from people by using three simple, but effective management techniques:

  1. Goal setting
  2. Praising
  3. Redirection

As always, I have summarized the key points from the book into a small animation. Should you find yourself intrigued and want to learn more, may I suggest you check it out? You can do so by clicking this https://youtu.be/rX0F3cHmcd8
